The operation of the elements of the ventilation system is often accompanied by a fairly strong noise that is created by the fan, grilles or dampers. The air duct system is capable of transmitting it over a long distance, creating unpleasant sensations and worse working conditions for people working in the room.
Important! The more powerful the fans, the higher the noise level. Currently, there are certain sanitary and hygienic standards, requirements for the presence and level of noise from air conditioning or ventilation. In connection with this, it is necessary to install a silencer.
Design and operation principle
Silencers perform a change in the parameters of the moving air flow, at which the existing noise level drops to a significant extent. This happens when the flow passes through a chamber with a large surface area covered with a material that absorbs sound waves. Externally, the device looks like a regular piece of air duct installed in a duct break.
There are two types of muffler construction:
-Lamellar rectangular section
-Tubular rectangular and round sections
Plate silencers
Lamellar have several longitudinally oriented plates of sound-absorbing material inside. When the air flow passes through them, the sound waves fall into a kind of trap and dampen the noise.
Tube Silencers
Tube structures consist of an outer and an inner pipe with multiple perforations. A sound-absorbing material is installed between them, which traps and absorbs sound waves. The cross section of tubular silencers is taken into account according to the diameter or perimeter of the inner pipe.
Round tubular silencers
Designed to reduce aerodynamic noise generated by fans, throttles, diaphragms, etc. propagating through the ducts of ventilation, aspiration and air conditioning systems.

Tubular rectangular section silencers type ГТП

GTP tubular silencers are produced in 5 standard sizes, classified according to the size of the duct cross section. The length of gtr silencers is 500 mm and 1000 mm (the length of the active part of the silencers is 380 and 880 mm, respectively). GTP duct silencers are produced with insulation thickness of 100mm. Made from galvanized steel. Silencers GTP are supplied with a flange connection (flange made of profile S20, S30 or angle steel). Super-thin glass fiber or mineral wool is used as a sound-absorbing material.
Assignment of GTP silencer
Tubular silencers GTP are designed to reduce aerodynamic noise generated by fans, air conditioners, heating units, air-distributing devices, as well as noise arising in the elements of the ventilation network and propagating through air ducts.
Operating conditions
Designed to transport air and chemically non-aggressive media with temperatures up to 80 C and relative humidity up to 60%.
Noise silencers are manufactured for operation in climatic version U, location category 3 in accordance with GOST 15150-69.
GTP tubular silencers are used as part of ventilation systems. Their use is the most effective way to reduce the noise level from the operation of ventilation systems to a minimum.
GTP duct silencers can be used to reduce the level of aerodynamic noise generated as a result of the operation of fans, diaphragms, air conditioners, throttles and other equipment that regulates air flow, both as part of supply and exhaust ventilation systems.
Materials
Muffler: galvanized steel
Sound-absorbing material: cotton wool and superfine fiber (STV); layer thickness – 95 -150 mm Protective coating: perforated galvanized steel sheet 0.7 mm thick (hole diameter – 12 mm, pitch – 20 mm) covered with EZ fiberglass or 0.55 mm thick (hole diameter – 3 mm, pitch – 5 mm) without fabric.

Plate silencer GP

Lamellar silencers GP are manufactured in 13 standard sizes, classified according to the size of the cross section of the duct;
Muffler length 1000 mm and 1500 mm;
Lamellar silencer GP is a prefabricated section consisting of a metal casing with silencer plates placed inside it, fixed with guides;
To reduce the hydraulic resistance at the inlet to the muffler, fairings are installed (ordered separately and attached to the plates during installation);
Silencer casing, sound absorbing plates and fairings are made of galvanized steel;
GP sound attenuators are supplied with a flange connection (flange made of profile S20, S30 or angle steel);
Destination
GP silencers are designed to reduce aerodynamic noise generated by fans, air conditioners, heating units, air-distributing devices, as well as noise that occurs in the elements of the ventilation network and propagates through air ducts.
Operating conditions
Designed to transport air and chemically non-aggressive media with temperatures up to 800 C and relative humidity up to 60%. Noise mufflers are manufactured for operation in climatic version U, placement category 3 in accordance with GOST 15150-69. Lamellar silencers of the GP series are designed to provide the highest quality sound insulation in ventilation systems of residential, public and industrial premises.
The design of plate silencers is sufficiently reliable and durable, so that the devices themselves have a long service life. Installation of the GP series plate silencers is not difficult and at the same time is one of the most effective measures to reduce the noise level generated as a result of fans, air conditioners and other equipment used in ventilation systems.
The problem of minimizing the noise level is relevant in almost all cases, and the use of lamellar noise suppressors GP is one of the most effective methods for solving it. The combined design of plate silencers of the GP series, as well as a wide range of modifications with different overall dimensions, make it possible to use such equipment as part of almost any ventilation system.
Structure
Silencer: is a prefabricated section consisting of a metal casing 1000 or 1500 mm long with plates placed inside it, fixed with guides. Such a section is assembled and delivered assembled to the place of installation. From such sections, a silencer of the required length is typed.
Plates: consists of a body which is made of galvanized steel sheet. Perforated sheets are connected to the body on the seam. Perforated sheets are produced with two types of perforations: hole diameter 3 mm, pitch 5 mm and diameter 12 mm, pitch 20 mm. Perforated sheets with 3 mm holes and 5 mm pitch are not covered with fiberglass.
Most often in ventilation systems, plate silencers are used for the scheme with a thickness of 200 mm sound attenuation plates and a distance between them of 200 mm. For other schemes, plate silencers are developed individually.
