Description of ventilation dampers

Structurally, the gate is a metal pocket, inside which a sheet rolled to size is progressively moved, overlapping the connecting size. With large dimensions of the gate, the sheet moves along the guide corners, with small dimensions – inside the pocket. The size of the control damper depends on the size of the duct. It can be either round or rectangular.

Ventilation dampers are used to cut off a branch of air ducts from the general system. They work, as a rule, in the “open / closed” modes. With incomplete opening and large size, they will create additional noise. When used in aspiration systems, it is made at an angle of 45 degrees to the blocked line.

Ventilation damper of rectangular section is a metal pocket, rectangular tie-ins installed on it corresponding to the section of the channel into which the damper is installed, flanges from the tire and the gate sheet itself installed on the tie-ins.

Ventilation damper of circular cross section is a metal pocket, installed on it are round cross-section inserts corresponding to the cross section of the channel into which the damper and the damper sheet itself are installed.

Ventilation dampers are produced in two modifications, differing in the type of connection with the air duct:

• valve on nipple connection
• gate on flange connection
